The Manifestation of a Magical Poundcake

A little story:

Once upon a time I decided I wanted to learn to bake. My main motivation came from a woman I adored who's name is Babette. (Actually I'd wanted to learn to bake long before that but it was only an idea in the back of my mind.)

After I spent some time observing Babette closely I'd decided I not only wanted to bake, but I wanted to be long-legged and gorgeous and poised and full of grace. Long-legged and gorgeous was a stretch. Babette was a Super Model, the for-real kind. I adjusted my physical aspirations accordingly.  I started studying poise. And grace. Chin up, knees straight.

She named her bakery Maybe Baby and hired me to paint the sign. After she hung it, I took it as a sign!

My scones were great and each day people came and bought them. I also sold flowers. (For a glimpse of that manifestation, see some pictures here.)

Currently I'm in the process of manifesting a way to get the tasty food I make out to the people. I'm tossing several ideas around, looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. Part of my process was to come up with a menu of lots of the foods I love and offer it as a gift to my friends. I called it The Manifestation of the Magical Poundcake and it's here. It is going to be a marvelous party when it happens. Wanna come? I also started Flour Power Bakery (Because The Hippies Won) and that site is here.

Browsing pound cake recipes you'll notice something right away: All the recipes are, for the most part, the same. So what sets my cake apart from all the others? That one special ingredient. You guessed it: Love.
